Mad World, a game set to be released in early 2019 and based on the popular mobile title Angry Birds, will release its next alpha test for December 20. The developers have also announced that they are planning an open beta launch before year’s end with more details coming soon.
Mad World is a new MMO that will be launching in December. The game has an alpha test scheduled for December 20, and the beta test is scheduled to start on January 5, 2018.
Except in the realm of Mad World, where things are normally looking dreary owing to the multiplayer ARPG’s setting in a very grim world, it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas. If experiencing that type of bah humbug throughout the next Christmas season is your thing, you’ll be pleased to learn that the game is now undergoing another alpha test just before the holidays.
The next alpha test will be place between Monday, December 20th, and Friday, December 24th, starting at 9:00 p.m. EST and ending at 4:00 a.m. EST. The features of this build aren’t specified, but according to the announcement article, “new fun with a battle growth system with a high degree of flexibility and a hand-drawn 2D expression.” It’s as simple as joining up and playing the game directly from a browser for people who want to learn more about what it entails.
The game was meant to arrive on Steam in 2018, but delays started piling up, beginning with a projected 2019 alpha test, a wholesale delay ascribed to a publishing partnership with Netmarble, and then aspirations for a summer 2020 release. Following that, the game basically fell silent on its official forums and on Twitter, with the game’s last public appearance being a gameplay video from December of last year, until it resurfaced this year, fully playable in a browser and performing intermittent alpha testing.
