Coleen Rooney has called her husband Wayne’s WAGs Becky and Coleen ‘lightweights’ in a recent interview. The mother-of-three said that she felt sorry for the wives of footballers who are only interested in their husbands when they’re playing.

Laila Rouass, who plays Rebekah Vardy on Footballers’ Wives, has spoken out against the current “Wagatha Christie” court battle between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney, describing the ladies as “lightweights.”
If the dispute had occurred as a plot on the program, Laila, 50, who played Amber Gates on the famous noughties series, quipped that the two WAGs would have certainly ‘had it out’ with each other physically and then ‘moved on.’
‘If it was Footballers’ Wives, they would have had it out in the players’ lounge, none of this court stuff, they would have torn each other’s t*ts off, ripped each other’s hair extensions out and gone on,’ the actress told The Sun.
‘They would have handled it in that manner.’
‘To be honest, I believe Coleen and Rebekah are lightweights,’ she said.
The ‘Wagatha Christie’ dispute got its name from Coleen’s apparent detective work before accusing Rebekah of selling tales about her to the press. Coleen is married to Wayne Rooney.

Coleen made a public statement in 2019 alleging that Rebekah’s Instagram account was the only one who could see fake articles she had placed in an effort to figure out who was leaking them to the press.
Rebekah has categorically denied that she was the source of the leak.
In July, Coleen won the case when Rebekah was forced to pay £10,500 in legal costs, but Rebekah also had part of her opponent’s defense dismissed as “irrelevant or ancillary” to the case by the High Court.
The lawsuit is still continuing, with a new hearing scheduled for this month.

Footballers’ Wives initially aired for five seasons till 2006, and included lots of drama, including court fights, murders, and a baby being suffocated to death by a dog.
Amber, played by Laila, also had an arch-rival in Tanya, played by Zo Lucker, which resulted in a notorious cat fight.
Coleen Rooney has a lot more to say about it.
The Holby City actor reflected on the show, calling it “one of the greatest moments ever,” and revealing that scripts would frequently seem “wild” or “stupid” before real-life occurrences would follow suit.
‘Then, just as we were ready to start shooting, a story would come out about a player doing precisely what we thought was outrageous, and we’d be like, ‘What do we do now?” she said.
