Elon Musk offered to sell $6 billion in Tesla stock online at the end of September. The offer will be open for 24 hours and has no limit on how many shares anyone can purchase, but it is only available through certain channels such as www.tesla.com or through an approved broker with a link from his Twitter account: Elon Musk (@elonmusk).

Elon Musk has said that if the United Nations can demonstrate that $6 billion can cure global hunger, he will sell Tesla shares immediately.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk made his comments during a CNN interview with UN Global Food Programme (WFP) Director David Beasley, in which he asked the ultra-rich to’step up now, on a one-time basis,’ to help end world hunger.
During the interview last week, Beasley particularly challenged Musk and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, saying: ‘$6 billion to save 42 million people who are genuinely going to die if we don’t reach them.’ It’s not difficult.’
Musk’s net worth is estimated to be about 2% of this sum.

Musk responded to the challenge on Twitter on Sunday, stating, “If WFP can articulate precisely how $6 billion would eliminate global hunger on this Twitter thread, I will sell Tesla shares right now and do it.”
‘However, it must be open source accounting,’ Musk continued, so that the public can see exactly how the money is spent.
Beasley responded to Musk’s tweet on Twitter, assuring that the WFP has transparency and open source accounting procedures in place.
His interview with CNN comes after a tweet he sent last month urging Musk and Bezos to help with the global food crisis.

According to the World Food Programme’s director, if the globe’s top 400 billionaires contributed, it would only take.36 percent of their entire net worth to avert hunger, which affects 43 countries throughout the world.
On CNN, Beasley remarked, “This is absolutely awful.” ‘I’m not expecting them to do this every day, week, or year. We are in the midst of a one-of-a-kind disaster, a perfect storm, including climate change and Covid. It’s a one-time occurrence.’
‘The world is in crisis, and you’re telling me you can’t offer me,’ Beasley said. In times like these, would you be willing to give up 36 percent of your net wealth to aid the world? What if it was your daughter who was dying of starvation? What if it was your own family that was on the verge of starvation? ‘Get up, smell the coffee, and lend a hand.’
According to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index, Musk has a net worth of $311 billion as of Monday, making him the world’s wealthiest man.
On Monday, Beasley tweeted to Musk again, pleading for his assistance.
‘Instead of tweets, I’d want to show you something. We may meet anywhere – on Earth or in space – but I recommend meeting in the field to observe (World Food Programme) people, procedures, and, yes, technology in action,’ Beasley added.
‘I’ll bring the blueprint and open books,’ she says.
